about work/shop
work/shop art studio envisions a vibrant community that is both invested in and shaped by the creative ambitions of young people.
Founded in 2022, work/shop hosts classes, open studios, and events for youth ages 8-19 in the Dallas area focused on art making and arts entrepreneurship. We are the proud organizers of the Dallas Teen Artists Market, and hope to create more spaces where young artists have access to all the tools they need to make art and build creative careers with the support of their peers and adult mentors.

“Last year, I participated in work/shop’s Teen Artist Market... it was an experience that really helped to solidify what art meant to me and re-instill my love for creating.”
At work/shop, we believe that every young person deserves access to a creative space where they are celebrated and encouraged to make the art that matters to them. We opened our first-ever public studio in Oak Cliff in 2025 after four years of pop-ups across DFW. Now we’re offering free drop-in programs and affordable classes all year round that help teen artists grow their skills, find community, and explore what’s possible. Your support helps us:
Keep drop-in programs free and open to all, and keep workshop fees low and affordable;
Provide supplies, snacks, and financial support for teen artists;
Pay teaching artists and youth leaders fairly;
and builds our sustainable, creative home in Dallas
