About the Instructor

I’m Jessica Thompson-Castillo, the founder of work/shop and a teaching artist with over 10 years of experience working with young people in museums and community spaces. While I love making art for myself, I feel most creative when I’m teaching! I enjoy exploring big and small ideas with kids and teens, and my teaching style focuses on process, play, and experimentation. When we have fun with new tools and materials, we grow more confident and imaginative as artists. My goal is for every student to enjoy themselves and walk away with a new skill in their creative toolbox.
