Characters & Comics Camp | June 9-30 | 9:00-12:00pm
Do you love stories and drawing? Then this camp is for you! Join us for a fun-filled week where you’ll create your very own comic book. You’ll design awesome characters, exciting worlds, and action-packed stories. Through fast-paced challenges and activities, you’ll learn how to turn your ideas into comics that you can share with friends and family. By the end of camp, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind comic book featuring your very own creations!
Looking for an all-day option? Register for our afternoon Layers of Me camp! Students registered for both camps are welcome to bring a non-refrigerated packed lunch and stay at the studio during the lunch hour.

About the Instructor
I’m Jessica Thompson-Castillo, the founder of work/shop and a teaching artist with over 10 years of experience working with young people in museums and community spaces. While I love making art for myself, I feel most creative when I’m teaching! I enjoy exploring big and small ideas with kids and teens, and my teaching style focuses on process, play, and experimentation. When we have fun with new tools and materials, we grow more confident and imaginative as artists. My goal is for every student to enjoy themselves and walk away with a new skill in their creative toolbox.
